Safeguarding at John Keble School
At John Keble Primary School the health, safety and well-being of every child is our paramount concern. We listen to our pupils and take seriously what they have to say.
All staff working or volunteering here are expected to share a commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and to report any concerns in accordance with our Child Protection and Safeguarding policy.
We work in partnership with families, and it is important that you share with us any information you have which may support us in helping your child to be happy and reach their potential. There is a range of Early Help available to families locally, and we are always happy to discuss with you what we can do to support you or to signpost you to others who may be better placed to do so. On rare occasions our concern about a child may mean that we have to consult other agencies, even before we contact you.

John Keble Primary School is committed to safeguarding all children. Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children is defined for the purposes of this guidance as:
- Protecting children from maltreatment;
- Preventing impairment of children’s health or development;
- Ensuring that children grow up in circumstances consistent with the provision of safe and effective care; and
- Taking action to enable all children to have the best outcomes.
Children include everyone under the age of 18.

All members of the school’s senior leadership team hold the Advanced Certificate in Safeguarding for Designated Safeguarding Leads.
